The best place to practice poker is at a computerized poker table where you can play for real money and act like there are other people you are playing against. Here is a quick synopsis of the Texas Holdem game of Poker. The game begins with two cards dealt facedown to each player. Action starts with a betting round beginning with the player to the left of the big blind, and continues clockwise around the table. Three community cards (aka, "The Flop" cards) are then dealt in the center of the table and another betting round takes place beginning with the player to the left of the dealer button. After the betting in that round is done another card is dealt to the flop cards face up (aka, "The Turn" card) followed by another round of betting. The fifth and final card (aka, "The River" card) is dealt face up and a final round of betting takes place. The player with the best hand who is still remaining in the game wins. Great strategy and skill is involved somehow.
